Meet Sarah.

Sarah Elia is a licensed physical therapist with over 25 years of experience and a recognized specialist in pelvic health. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1998 and her Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1999 from American International College.

Sarah began her career in orthopedics at a small private practice in southern New Hampshire but quickly found her passion in pelvic floor rehabilitation-a field where she has dedicated her work ever since. She has pursued extensive advanced training through Herman & Wallace, holds a certification in Integrated Dry Needling, and is pilates certified.

Widely regarded by her patients and the Southern Maine medical community as a leader in evidence-based, patient-centered pelvic health care, Sarah serves as a clinical instructor for Maine Medical Center residents in their third and fourth years. She has presented on pelvic floor rehabilitation and pelvic pain at Maine Medical Center and continues to advance awareness and treatment of pelvic health across the region.

Sarah treats a wide range of pelvic floor conditions, including pelvic pain, bowel, bladder, and sexual health conditions as well as pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and pelvic organ prolapse. Originally from southern New Hampshire, she relocated to Maine with her family in 2015. Outside of her clinical practice, Sarah enjoys embracing an active lifestyle and making the most of life in beautiful Maine with her husband, twin daughters and dog/running buddy Louie.
